In the Depths

I saw a post yesterday that said:

“Stop letting social media think for you.“

And they went on to say and to talk about how the consumption of social media has become people’s identity, their thoughts, and their reasoning, how dangerous that is; and how important it is that we know and understand the difference between who we are, and who we POST to be.

My response to that was and is this:

I don’t think people know or understand the difference.

And it’s sad.

Truly. It is.

People are so addicted to their online personas, to clout, and attention that they never turn that shit off, and therefore they genuinely believe that that's who they are, or at least that that's who they should be.

So many people fear going beyond the surface because in the depths they have to face who they are.

In the depths, you have to stand on and in truth.

In the depths, you cannot hide.

Real thoughts, real conversations, real feelings, and real connections matter.

Let's get back to that.

Love.
