Good Vibes Only

Somebody said:

“Good vibes only is kindergarten spirituality.”

And I laughed.

Because…

It really is.

I talk a lot about spiritual and emotional bypassing because it’s so prevalent in our society and culture.

Everybody talks about being “unbothered” and only focusing on good vibes and positivity.

“If it’s negative I don’t want it.”

But that’s not real life.

That’s a Band-Aid.

You want a "positive" life? Learn to sit with and look at what's "negative.” At what’s hard. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Hold yourself and others accountable.

Because that’s true positivity.

Those are the makings of healthy dynamics.

Positivity is not positive if it means avoiding the hard shit, all while grasping at straws for what you think you want.

Stop “protecting” yourself from “negative” energy.

Open your mind and heart to the world and people around you.

If you want good, if you want happiness, if you want positive-then breathe into difficult moments and difficult conversations -breathe deeply through fear, anger, disappointment, and discomfort.

Breathe life into something, or someone.

Breathe.
