Distractions don’t lead to Growth

So much of who we think we are is just the residue of the past; tethers to the people we’ve met and experiences we’ve had.

We stuff our truth and essence deep within ourselves to fit into boxes others have created and put in front of us.

We carry the weight of things that other people have placed on us.

Then we wonder why we feel lost and confused.

We wonder why we can’t find or feel our way through, so what do we do…

We scroll, perform, and distract ourselves with anything that will keep us from the confrontation necessary for growth.

Social media will not heal your wounds.

Getting and maintaining followers will not make you feel whole.

And increasing your audience and engagement will not lighten the load of the weight that you are carrying.

Dig deep.

Start removing some things from that box.

Confront the truth of how and when those things were placed there, and who placed them.

Confront and acknowledge these stories and your role and place in them.

Release the weight of other people’s stories and expectations.

Release the weight of their perception of who you are or who you should be.

Tear open that box and be free.

Unpack the truth you hold within yourself.

Be big.

Be bold.

Be You.

Walk in your glory and truth.

Let your essence be your story.

Love
